Wildlife Conservation Alliance Protects Unique Mesoamerican Habitat

In the heart of Honduras’ Mosquitia jungle lies a place of legend; the recently discovered ‘Lost City’ site (now known as Kaha Kamasa) – – one of the most significant archeological discoveries of this century. The forest, featured in “The Lost City of the Monkey God,” is part of the second largest wilderness area in Mesoamerica and one of the most unique wild places on the planet. Yet this region, encompassing forests in both Honduras and Nicaragua, is one of the most threatened in Central America.

Global Wildlife Conservation, Wildlife Conservation Society, and the Kaha Kamasa Foundation have created an unprecedented alliance to protect the forest that harbors the ‘Lost City’ and it unique and critically endangered natural and cultural heritage.
